Graduate Student Research Associate
Emily Erickson is a graduate student in the department of Urban Planning at UCLA and a Graduate Student Researcher at the Center for the Study of Urban Poverty. In addition to her work with the CSUP, her own research focuses on immigrant reception and incorporation within California cities. Previously she received a Masters in Latin American Studies from UC San Diego where her thesis looked at the role of space in the debate over day laborers within Southern California communities. Her publications include a co-authored chapter on the economics of migration in Migration from the Mexican Mixteca, edited by Wayne Cornelius and David Fitzgerald. She has worked and traveled throughout Mexico and parts of Latin America. Emily earned her BA from UC Davis and was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.
